Linking a model into a brand new project

I have a model which is the Architectural model

I now want to create an MEP model.

I set up a new project, using my template from the Architectural Model

However, If I am starting from scratch with this model

How can I get them to share the same project base point? Doesn´t give me an option here

Create a new project from the System template, not Architect template. Link the architectural model in origin to origin and acquire coordinates.

Thanks for the heads up with the systems template.

And will I be able to make openings in ceilings with my MEP systems in my MEP model if my ceilings are modelled in my Architectural Model? or do I have to do something

No. you cannot cut ceiling in linked architectural file from you MEP file.  Let's me ask why you don't everything in one file, since it doesn't sound like you create the MEP link for an outside consultant?

That is a question I haven´t thought of.

To give some background, this building is connected by a glass passageway to an existing office building, spanning from one building to another.

This existing office building is set to be demolished and a new building built in its footprint.

When the new building is completed this will probably change how it is connected to the building I am modeling in terms of MEP. So there might be a reason to model it separately.

Otherwise, I dont see any other reason why
