linked structural model is dropping out when I apply the view template

This is a weird one -

I have been working on wall sections, and on a few of the wall sections I noticed that my linked structural model is dropping out of the view.  It's only on some of the views, and everything is turned on in the visibility graphics and manage links tabs.

It's now happening with my detail views.  It seems like the views that are dropping it out are in the same area of the model, but they are only dropping out when I apply the templates, and are in there when I set up the same settings manually (no template).

Any thoughts?

Guaranteed that when you establish the settings manually, you are missing something that the view template does.

Go through the view template settings item by item and think about everything it is doing.

But it's the same view template is showing the structural model in other views that were all set up the same way - draw the section, apply the view template - so the settings of the view template would be the same

I did go through the properties manager and the template settings at one point but they were the same in each view

confirm your clip depth of the views it is dropping out of

YOU are the best.

I have no idea why it worked, but I don't care.  Thank you!

With NoClip, when you look at the extents of an Elevation or Section in a Plan view, you will see that there is no limit to the maximum distance that it will see.

If you set one of the Clip options, then in Plan view you will see that the extents of the Elevation or Section can be manually controlled for how far away it will see, and that distance will be in in the Far Clip Offset parameter of the view.

Your template must have included the Clip setting and the Far Clip Offset value, and that value was something low enough that the problem views just weren't seeing far enough to pick up any of the structure.

When you set up the settings manually, you weren't duplicating that bit of the template.
