Linked Revit Models Disappear when Zooming

Hello!

The issue I am having is a little vague in its appearances so I will try to provide as much info as possible below. Essentially, I am working in several Revit files that each link a different set of 3D Revit models in. One of these files in particular has a strange issue where when looking at the model in any 3D view (not a camera, I mean true 3D views), the linked models all appear until you begin to zoom in. At a certain point while zooming, the linked models disappear entirely from view, leaving only elements local to the file. The only way I have figured out how to get the linked models to stay visible when zoomed in is to set them to wireframe rendering...all other rendering modes have this issue. Of course, working in wireframe can be very difficult 😜 .

I have already tried setting the view scale to all sorts of things, turning hidden lines on and off, etc.

I am running a Windows 10 Machine with an NVidia K4000 gpu...already did a firmware upgrade on it in an effort to fix this.

Thank you in advance!

You may try this:

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-structure-forum/revit-2017-shaded-with-edges-visual-style-issue...

Revit add-ins: CAD Purger (delete UNUSED and selected line patterns & line styles, find and delete CAD), Rooms To Spaces, Schedule Utilities (Calculated Values/Combined Parameters To Tags, reuse view filter rules in schedule filters), View Filter Manager at Revit Apps Store

I followed those directions and it still doesn't seem to make a difference. My models still disappear when I zoom in.

Any other thoughts? Thanks!

Is it possible the linked file has been modelled a long way from the Revit Origin point?

To check, open the linked file on it's own, go to a plan view, make your project base point visible and right click on it and select 'Move to Startup Location' then zoom extents.  If the model appears as a single pixel this may well be the source of your problem... if not I'll need to think of something else!  šŸ˜‰

I checked, and the origin point is right at the base of the model.

Thanks!

Seems to have solved itself - I'll keep an eye out in case it happens again

What about if is appearing when panning and zooming only (lines), but families are shown regardless.
