Linked Revit model's Design Options not showing in VGO

Hi there, I have a model that contains a linked model, in which the linked model contains many Design Options, for example "Roof Deck Coverings". I opened the linked model separately to verify this. However, when I am working in my main model, and go into Visibility Overrides for the linked model, only 2 design options show up there. It would seem that I should be able to see all the design options in the link and be able to override them as needed, but they don't appear in the list.  Has anyone else experienced this? Do you know of any solutions that don't require ownership of the linked model?

Unfortunately, this is not the best place to ask such a question. Please note that this discussion forum is dedicated to programming Revit using the Revit API. Afaict from your query and screen snapshots, you are not doing anything programmatically yourself using the Revit API, just using the standard Revit user interface. In that case, you will probably get more optimal answers to a question like yours relating to product setup, optimisation, usage, best practices and other end-user support issues in one of the non-API Revit product support discussion forums instead:

The people there are probably better equipped to address this topic than us programming nerds. I hope this clarifies.  Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Best regards,

Jeremy

Ah I see, I have made a mistake here. I haven't made many posts so I am still learning the customary way to use this forum. It is not always clear to me which is the best place to put my question. Thanks @jeremy_tammik for clarifying and for being nice about it .

PS- I do not see a way to delete or move my post.  I can "accept the solution" but it will still be in the wrong place. Maybe I can just report my own post. In the meantime feel free to ignore my question for now until I find a better way to move it.

Hi,

Try to expand the link (click the "+" ) and select the instance of it:
Are you using a linked model with a linked model in it containing the Design Options? If so, it is impossible because they should be in the link directly and not nested into another link.

I have tried to expand the instance, but it shows the same Design Options (only 2 options, when there should be more).

No, the Design Options are contained within the Linked model itself (not within a nested model within the linked model). I downloaded it to be sure this is the case.  I am using Revit 2022 for this project, BTW. I am wondering if perhaps this is a bug.
