Linked Models Displaying Multiple Counts in Schedules

Hi all,

I am attempting to create a simple room schedule from a linked in Architectural model. For whatever reason, it creates many multiples of room instances in the schedule when in the Architectural model itself, there is only one room. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Could it be that there are multiple rooms of the same name and number in the linked file?

Maybe picking up those in Design Options?

Check the Schedule's VGO settings.

First select the link. Right click and select all instances in the entire project. See how many links you have in the project. If it is multiple, this means the links are copied multiple times. If it is one, perhaps there are not placed rooms still appearing in your room schedule. You may want to add level and see if that room appear in specific level or not placed. Delete any not placed rooms.

If there happens to be multiple instances of the link, is there a way to only count one of those instances? Without removing the others from the file? Thanks!

Links have a Name property. You can use that to tell the difference between multiple instances. For example, you can call one of them X and then filter out the other instances from the schedule by that property > equals = X
