Linked IFC Issue

Hi,

Recently I have been working on a project across Archicad and Revit where IFC file is required. All architectural & structural elements are created in Archicad (external party) and in Revit we link the IFC for the base model.

One of the issues I can't seem to resolve is that door swing is only visible on Ground level (refer to image on the left), while on the rest of levels only the IfcOpeningElement can be selected. In the 3D view, the doors are all visible after I have hidden the IfcOpeningElement.

Wonder if anyone else has experienced this issue before, and are there any workaround to resolve this issue?

Are you referring to this?

Door swings – Linking an IFC into Autodesk Revit will result in 2D door swings not displaying correctly. The openings will be available but not the door swing. Opening an IFC or converting the IFC to a native Autodesk Revit file will resolve this issue.

Thanks for the input.

I have tried converting to Revit Native elements in the past, however, the result is still not ideal, refer to the image below. Some of the issues I have encountered;

Issue 1: A few windows are lost during the file conversion / wrong geometry is represented

Issue 2: Doors are only showing when the mouse hovers on the element.

It is indeed a frustrating process working across different platforms, I would like to know if there's a better workaround for this.

Cheers,

Kevin

Serious question: What's the Wall Height and the Door Height? They aren't the same; are they?

...if you want to upload the file, I can test on my end for you.

Seems like the IFC file is too large to be attached here. What is your email address?

As mentioned, only the ground floor appears to be fine with all the door swings.
Thanks for the prompt replies, really appreciate your help on this.

I have the same results you are experiencing when I Link the IFC. However, when I Open the IFC I do not. Doors display correctly at all levels. Strange that it took several long minutes to Open though -- and that I received this error message upon finishing . No option but to delete 239 instances of...???.

...ain't troubleshooting a beoch.  Arrgh!  You might want to share a dropbox for others to test your IFC.  A lot of talent on this Forum.

Hi barthbradley,

I spent the weekend fiddling around the sample Revit file with the the current IFC workflow, I have noticed the similar issue occurring on the upper floor. Below are the images showing door symbols are layered underneath the floor slab (based on my observation, could be wrong). Is this a normal phenomenon?
