you can go to insert > manage links > cad formats > select the file > reload. or when linking cad file use Positioning Center to Center and tick current view only. thanks
Hi,
Reload is only can use when you have a link file already link.
Usee Positioning Center to Center and tick current view only not work.

Eileen
can you share the file revit and autocad files here so we can check. thanks
the besttips for link CAD file
1-Purge and clean all your CAD files
2- relocate them in 0,0,0 point in CAD
3- Link CAD is preferable for me than Import by Origin to Origin
i Think may you cad files have a update or have layers hidden this may cause a problem or the scale by the way may cause this problems
Then check you Manage Link if they are Linking if this problems still be there remove them and try for link them again some times revit have troubleshooting or corrupted.
you can try this method with Detached file or copy from the original file.
Can you repath your CAD link? Most often I saw these issue when IT change the server to new name and the CAD link is using UNC path instead of generic drive path.
Hi All,
I have try the following method:
1) copy the file to a new autocad file and do link cad in Revit - Can not link.
2) my friend use Revit version 2020.2 and do link cad in Revit - Can link no problem.
3) use different link selection show in unit, positioning or place -Can not link.
Not sure is it Revit version 2020.1 problem?
Post the CAD file and see if user is able to replicate the same issue
Hi All,
Attach files for testing only.
Revit version 2020.1
Autocad version 2020
There is nothing wrong with CAD file. However you may have to check the unit because it is set to Meters as their insert unit. So I assume when you link the CAD to Revit, it is away from your Revit project basepoint. See screenshot below.
I use another Computer B to do Linked cad no problem and go back use Computer A to open the file the cad file can not display (file not found).
Must I reinstall the software or do some setting ??
Sounds like the server drive letter is set differently from your computer and another computer. Check and see what drive path the link is set to and see what drive you have listed on your computer.

I use Reload From by path it correctly also can not.
This issue is related to IT side where drive path is different from computer A & B. Check and see what drive letter both computer A & B uses. It would be great to take a screenshot the link path from computer B and check computer A the drive letter.
I had the same issue occur in 2021. Copied the CAD elements into a new Autocad file and save as a new file. Linked in with no additional issues.
Hi there,
Your suggestion solved my issue, i just moved my cad file to 0,0 point and ran the audit command on it, then i load into revit with no problem at all.
Thank you
