Linked CAD must show on selected views only

In this model that I must follow as an example, when I go to VV, I can see that the linked CAD is showing in just a few views:

I'm trying to do the same in my model. However, when linking the CAD, it will end up showing in all views. For example in this view the CAD is showing. Hiding it on VV is not an option, it cannot even be there. I was trying to remove it on manage links, but then it will remove the linked CAD from all views.3.PNG

This is the feedback that I got from the creator of the model that I must follow:

"The DWG should be integrated in a block with an active pin to ensure that the reload of multiple instances are easily fixed in their location, if necessary, and not as 3D but to the view"

When you link the CAD file, check "Current view only", then just copy and paste aligned to selected views to whatever views you need it to show. Then, select all instances, and pin.

Also, the reason the check boxes are grayed out in that one view is because you probably have a view template applied to that view.

Is there a way to remove the linked cad from the view afterwards?

Select and delete.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

I think the OP wants to remove a Link from certain Views.  Unless they are copies of the Link in each View, deleting one will remove entirely in the Project.

May I suggest a workaround? Link the CAD into a blank Revit file, then link this to your project. In the views that you want to see it, in VG (or the View template) set the visibility of the linked CAD to By Linked View, in the views that you DO want to see it, set the visibility of the CAD to By Host View.

I thought the OP had changed to the current view only option already.

That is going to have to be done in order for the OP to accomplish what they desire.

Do you ever want the link CAD to be showing in a 3D view?

- If No, then link it with the Current View Only box checked is the best option.  Then when you need to to show in another view, just copy and paste align similar to any other detail items.

- If Yes, then you must NOT check the Current View Only box.  Create a new workset and set it Off by default, then place the link in that workset.   For any views you want to show the CAD link, just VV and manually open the workset.  For all other views, the workset is closed so you will not see the CAD link.

remove and reload to ''current view only" and IF YOU HAVE CHANGED THE POSITIONS  , I guess you have manually adjust again to place appropriately
