Anybody know what could be creating these green filled regions? There's nothing in the linked CAD file that resembles them or coincides with their locations when opened in AutoCAD. I can't hide them because it's the new wall layer.
Can you post the CAD to inspect?
...have you tried querying the element in Revit?
I cut it down a bit but this still has the green blocks when imported into Revit.
I'm not using any wipeouts and I deleted all the solid hatches (which were a different color and right where they were supposed to be).
They are on WALL-NEW layer. Can't you turn it off through VGO?
....you are intending on getting rid of the CAD eventually anyways; aren't you?
Attached is the revised DWG.
To get rid of the invisible boxes in AutoCAD, see screencast and the steps:
https://knowledge.autodesk.com/community/screencast/27c153ad-f9f5-4eb7-8bae-6b49126b92b9
- Select everything on screen
- Use Quick Select button to get objects belong to WALL-NEW layer
- Copy with Base Point 0,0
- ESC out
- Quick Select again to select everything on layer WALL-NEW, this will get all the boxes as well
- Delete them all
- Select any object on screen, right click to get to the Clipboard menu and Paste to 0,0 to get the legitimate objects back

Well I still want to be able to see the new walls so how does hiding the new wall layer help me?
I want to know where these objects are coming from. I can't see them in ACAD so I don't know what to delete.
There are exactly 2 elements on WALL-NEW -- plus all those Green Boxes. What's the problem? Move those 2 elements to another layer, or make Revit Walls from them first and then turn off WALL-NEW.
I'm not getting the boxes selected on the fifth step, so I'm unable to delete them. What am I missing here?
And why can't anyone tell me WHAT THESE F*ING BOXES ARE so I can select them?

You need to cancel out from the any command, do not select anything, and you Quick Select options must be exactly like what I show below.
Why does it matter so much. The ACAD drawing is only a reference to be used and discarded. No?
I did EXACTLY that! And I'm not getting your result. What is the definition of insanity, anyone?
Another way is WBLOCK and select everything on screen to write to a new file. Or if this a one off, send the original DWG over and I can fix it for you.
I can't tell what they are even though I can select and delete them. Could be proxy objects from 3rd party software such as AutoCAD MEP or Architecture.

Answer: Continuing to try and fix something that doesn't matter.
...it occurred to me that the person that put those green boxes in there is going to be pretty disappointed that you deleted them. He might even beat you up for doing so.
