Hello, we are attempting to use the "Link Topography" tool in Revit. When the file is linked it is showing up offset by a few feet from the correct location. We have many additional AutoCAD and Civil3d files from the civil engineer linked into the project via shared coordinates and they all show up in the correct location. The civil engineer is reporting that xrefs between the files are registering properly on their side. Is a different coordinate system used for linked topography surfaces and C3D/AutoCAD?
This is happening in Revit 2021.1.3; noticed the resolved issue in 2020 which sounds very similar. I have tried linking the files in a fresh project and am getting identical results.
So, you are Linking ALL by Shared Coordinates - and ALL but one is landing correctly in the Parent Project. So, why can't you reposition the one that is not landing correctly and reconcile its Shared Coordinates?
It's in BIM360 so publishing coordinates is not an option (acquire only workflow); the link toposurface tool is explicitly through 360 as far as I know so I don't have the opportunity to link a local file and use publish there. And it also wouldn't answer my question of why the coordinates are reconciled in Civil 3D but not in Revit :).
I notice if you set to center to center when you link in your CAD, Revit will shift your CAD whenever civil update their drawing. Revit will treat newly object to be at the center. It is very annoying and occur to my project several times. So always set your CAD link as manual origin to avoid this shift.
