Hello,
A client uses a Revit server on which the main project was created and stored. Links have been added to other revit files (.rvt) which are stored on a Windows share.
Is this the right method to adopt for link management, or is it better to add the files stored on the Windows share to the Revit server.
The project takes a long time to open and I think it's due to the link pointing to a remote Windows share.
Thanks in advance.
I believe storing all Revit files, including linked models, on the Revit server rather than a separate Windows share can significantly improve performance. At least, this is how we handle projects in our office

Okay thank you, and how do you proceed for linking files other than Revit, like DWG or IFC for example. We cannot put them on the Revit server. My solution was to copy them locally to the PC, another solution?
