Hi guys,
I have been testing the link IFC command within Revit and found that IfcSpaces are not imported, all other building elements e.g. IfcWalls, IfcColumns, IfcSlabs, etc are imported fine. The only way I can import IfcSpaces into Revit is to use the File>Open>IFC command instead.
Is this a limitation of the Link IFC command in Revit? Or am I missing something?
This was tested in Revit 2018.3.1.
Cheers,
Marcus
Here is an update:
I used Revit 2019 and exported an IFC2X3. Then, I linked the IFC file into a blank Revit File and the rooms geometries are coming as a Generic Model. I believe, that's one of the limitations of Revit and IFC interoperability.
Thanks for the reply and confirmation, I can see now that the rooms are seen as Generic Models also within Revit 2018.3.1
Is there a way to raise this as a feature request? To see if we can use Link IFC and somehow convert the IfcSpaces to Revit Rooms?
