Hello all,
I have two different models for the same project. One for the new elements and the other for the demolished and existing elements.
I want to create a drawing in which all the phases would be presenting. The problem is that when I link the demolished/existing model the demolish elements hide the project's elements. Is there something that I can to in order to avoid it ?
Thank you in advance !
is there a reason your Demo and New are drawn in 2 different models?
Normally you would draw your existing content under Existing phase. Then use Revit's Demo tool to demolish the unneeded content and draw your new elements in the New Construction phase.
you can also select the link and try using the Phase Mapping.

Why? Who told you to do it this way?
Thank you for your answers.
The phases and the phases filters are the same in both models. Is there any way to change the transparence of some elements of the link file ?
I tried also to overlappe the views (one view with the project and one other view with the existing/demolish) in my sheet but it doesnt work.
Revit really is not designed to work the way you are using it. I go back to our original question, Is there a reason your Demo and New are drawn in 2 different models?

Only reason I could think of just now is when you want existing grids to be named/numbered as in original drawings maybe, for whatever reason. While still having the same numbering 'available' in the current project... although you could also only link in the original grid, not the entire model nescessarily...
Hello,
Thank you for your time.
The model with the existing/demolish elements contains the elements that come from the Architects (I copied-pasted from their model). We had some problems when we created out sheets with the visibility (they used differentes phases etc.) so we decided to create a model with our phases with their elements in order to manage better the our sheets.
At the beginning , I had tried to copy-paste the elements in our project model, but when I did the paste the elements came in the project phase and our project elements were impacted (I had noticed that the geometry of our elements was changing some times as the elements of architects was at the same place with our elements before I change their phase to existing /demolish)
About my initial question, in the demolish/existing model I gave a name _transparent to the floors that I didnt want to hide my project elements..and after in my project I create a filter using the this type name and set it to 40% transparent.
