Link a georeferenced ifc file in Revit

There is only one way to link an ifc file in Revit which uses the internal origin and it's such a problem. Therefore you can't link a georeferenced ifc file in a georeferenced Revit project. The link appears very far from the internal origin whereas Revit should use the ifcsite coordinates to link the ifc close to the internal origin. The link must be moved manually to can work with and it's not a good solution.

This is an issue with coordinating anything with a Revit project using GIS Coordinates - not just IFC.

Do you see a Survey Point if you open the IFC directly in Revit? If so, save it to a RVT and link it in using Shared Coordinates.

Thank you for your reply. I see the survey point after opening an ifc file but there are at least 2 reasons why I prefer linking an ifc file than opening it:

- the results are not the same and there are often more problems with geometry for instance with the ifc opened

- the goal of the link is to update the file each time you have a new version.
