We have a 2x6 wood stud exterior wall with brick veneer and air gap in between. Our firm standard in CAD has been to draw the brick at a substantially lighter line weight and I would like to replicate this going forward in our Revit LT standards.
See the image below of an example wall condition, with the correct line weights boxed in red. Two issues at play is that 1. This is a linked model and specific element VGs cannot be overridden and 2. This is Revit LT so filters cannot be used. I have also tried changing this in Object Styles for common edges, but this changes the line weight for all common edges where wall types meet, which is not our intention.
Additionally, the wood stud wall and the brick veneer are 2 separate wall types. This is not critical, so if the below condition can be created with a single combined wall, so be it. However, I would consider a solution to be unacceptable if it were to involve annotative elements or the linework tool, as this is a very common condition across a massive project.
To summarize this question succinctly, how can I change the cut line appearance of a specific wall type from a linked model in Revit LT?
*Edit: To clarify, the above image is zoomed in to show a typical wall, grey being the wood stud wall, white being brick/airgap. In red is an annotative region showing the desired line weights compared to the thicker lines surrounding it. The view is from our parent documentation model. All elements shown (walls/doors) are from a linked model.
Hard to know precisely what is going on, but the Link Model should be using the Parent/Host Model Category Line Weights. Now if the Link is using Parent/Host Line Weights, then set your Category Line Weights how you like. Keep in mind though that Line Weight is Annotative, so if #1, for instance, isn't thin enough at a particular View Scale, then you'll need to mitigate via Manage Tab => Additional Settings=> Line Weights.
