Line between joined geometry appearing with phase cut pattern override

I'm experiencing an undesired graphic display issue with joined geometry and phase filters/phase graphic overrides. The attached examples show a structural beam and floor, joined together using join geometry. They are both of the same material. When the phase graphic override for cut patterns is set to "Solid Fill", a line appears between the two elements. When the override is removed, the line disappears as expected. Does anyone know of a way to have the phase filter override a cut pattern with solid fill and prevent the lines from appearing between joined geometry?

What version of Revit are you using? In my install of 2025.4 I don't get a joint between them even if they are in different phases.

it's a Structural Framing thing when in 3D view...See GIF Below.

• When Override is applied (Color/Pattern) using phase Filters and PF Overrides, the Structural framing in 3D view seems to retain its common edge as if it is a different material (Same applies for New Construction)
• When a Phase material is applied, the structural framing seems to retain the fill pattern & color set in the family

In setction views it displays as expected (no common edge)

I just tested this in 2025.4 myself and it persists for me. Unfortunately the line still appears when there is a cut pattern override. In your case did you have a cut pattern override for a previous phase, set the beam and floor to the previous phase, and have a phase filter set to override graphics?

That's strange, for me the issue occurs both in 3D and in section. I am mostly concerned with the section views at this point. Do you know if you did anything special to get the common line to disappear in section views?

Nope nothing special, just the phase filter and phase override as shown in the GIF and below images (No Phase Material used)...the model is attached in the previous reply. You can download and experiment with it

I discovered the cause of the issue. When the detail level is set to "fine" or "medium", the line appears both in 3D and section. When the detail level is set to "coarse", the line disappears, both in section views and 3D. The line also disappears when the view is set to fine or medium, but the floors and structural framing categories are overridden to coarse in the view template/visibility override settings. Not sure if this is intended behavior but at least I have a workaround for now.

All views posted in previous posts are in coarse mode. That is not the issue you are having. Edit the floor type and change the coarse scale fill pattern to blank

On my end, when I downloaded the model, the 3D views were in "fine" detail level, but when I switch them to "coarse" the line disappeared. Also, the floor family's coarse scale fill pattern seemed to have no effect on whether the line appears or not, at least on my end.

However, I did discover that the issue still occurs when the edge of the floor slab overlaps with the beam. So unfortunately setting the view to coarse detail level only partially addresses the issue- now in my model, some beams have the line and some don't. Kind of a bummer but not sure if there's anything else that can be done to avoid it.
