Hello,
I am trying to understand the differences between the light analysis tools in Revit vice 3DS Max. We are trying to use real-world terrain with 3D models for an outdoor light analysis of both solar and artificial lighting in a scene. Is the lighting analysis in Revit the same as that in 3DS Max? If not what are the differences? We like that the analysis in 3DS Max is able to be exported to a .csv file. Are we able to do this in Revit? Lastly are both tools able to atmospheric effects? Are there differences?
If you are using Revit or 3ds Max for lighting analysis your are doing it wrong.
You should do lighting analysis with specific software tools like Dialux.
I recommend dialux because of the ifc import function that works rather well when importing geometry from a Revit project.
