We will be showing a house being lifted and moved then new walls being put below the original house. Is there any way to maintain the existing phasing while moving the walls, windows, etc to a new location?
I must be slow today. I've read your post 3 times and I still don't get it. How is phasing related to moving elements?
If I have existing walls set to phase demolished: none then I move that wall e.g. house to the new location then the existing wall won't be shown in the right spot on the existing views...
I still don't understand the question. Yes, if you move an element -- any elements in any phase -- it is moved in all the views. Are you perhaps talking about exploded views (e.g. "Displace Elements")?
No. You need to demolish the existing and re-create it at the new location. But I wouldn't do that. here is what i would do:
- Keep the existing as is
- Model Site elements in a separate file
- Link the Site in, place one instance (A) the existing location; place another Site instance (B) at a new location so the relationship between it and your building model reflect the new location of the building
- Hide (B) for existing views and hide (A) for new views
House lifting is lifting a house from its foundation to increase its height or move it to another location. House lifting is often done in low-lying areas to prevent houses from floods, or to make room for a new foundation and basement.
