Hello comunity,
i am having trouble with an area schedule sorted by levels, dont know exactly why its not working...
i basically have two models for one building: one for the basement and the other one for the ground floor + 2 floors. This two are linked to a third model, where i am creating the area schedules.
what happens is that revit completely lost track of the levels: i ask it to sort the schedule by level and it shows me 1. Floor > Basement > 2. Floor > Groundfloor. What is happening here? Could somebody help me with that?
Thanks!

When you created the Area Schedules, did you place a check mark in the box that says "Include elements in links" within the Schedule Properties dialog box first?

Yes i did - i can see everything i need, only the levels order is wrong...
sometimes the sort feature within schedules gets a little whacky (technical term). Try to NOT sort by level so it goes back to showing everything unsorted by level. Then, sort by Level again. It may reengage.

I created a Revit model with several models linked in to test the Area Schedule and Level Sorting issue for you. It looks like mine is working fine. I have Revit 2019. If you have this version, you can open the host file and see what I made.
Hope this helps

Thank you very much, but it doesnt work yet. I kept reading forums to find out that i am not the first one - Revit sorts the levels alphabetically for linked models... So it seems like the only solution is to rename the levels in the main file and call the basement 00... or AA..., the ground floor 01... or AB...
My apologies for misunderstanding....
you are correct...you will need to alter the names to sort it the way you want for now

Hi there,
I have got a similar issue with filtering schedules in a host model.
As described, I have a quite complex model where the host model has four linked models in it. In this instance, originally all 3D elements were created in a single model that was eventually split to create the current network.
The issue is that in the schedules I can see all the area-related information (size, level,) but Revit doesn't let me filter by level. To make it more clear, under the filter list, "level" doesn't happier at all although is listed under fields.
I have tried changing the level names but unfortunately didn't work.
Any idea?
Cheers
try to remove Level as a column in your schedule...then put it back in so the schedule re=updates. If it then shows as a column in your schedule, you should be able to sort/filter it by level.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I've already tried that and it didn't work.
I've actually found that it's not possible to filter a schedule by the Family, Type, Family and Type, Level, or Material parameters when the information comes from a linked model.
that is unfortunate. you may not be able to do what you want with your Revit schedule then....for now. Perhaps suggesting this issue to be resolved as a Revit Idea would help.

I will definitely do, filtering by level is so handy.
Back to my issue, I think I'll end up editing the element mark (applicable to both areas or doors) to show the level and then filter by mark. I.e. an area lay on the second floor would be 02.XXX where the first two digits refer to the floor.
idea posted here if you'd like to support it

My problem is similar but different in critical ways. I am linking a full floor of apartments units (that are themselves nested links) into my host model and these full floors are copied to several floors. I am unable to integrated these linked models by level into the area schedule of the host model, which has its own areas reflected in the schedule. If I sort by level, these linked floors are are grouped separately from the host model levels. See attached screenshot. How can I configure a schedule where the areas of the linked models and the areas of the host model are combined by level to give me an overall floor area of each level?
Thanks for your help!
