my level 1 and 2 floor plans are not lining up and I cant find how to change the orientation so that they will both be using 0,0.

- You can turn on Underlay on one of the Level so that you can see the other to align them up.
- Create Grid lines for reference (preferred workflow)
- Create Reference Planes for reference
Kind of confusing...
What's "0,0"? Are you meaning the Project Base Point coordinates (N/S & E/W)?
What do you mean that you can't change the "orientation"? Do you mean change their "position" relative to one another in Plan View, or do you mean change their "rotation"; that the 2 Plan Views are askew from one another?
If you're in a Plan View of one level, with the other level under or overlaid in the view, and they aren't in alignment with one another, then you must have draw it that way (or moved it after the fact). To correct, you need to move one or the other. This would apply if you're talking about an Elevation View as well.
Or, are you in a Sheet View and meaning that they aren't aligning properly in that view?
Or, are you talking about a Linked in Model that in the wrong location (e.g. not sharing coordinates properly)?
yes I meant the origin point wasn't 0,0,0 on the xyz axis for both levels. and yes I meant in a 3d view I just want them to be stacked exactly over each other. I just grabbed it and moved it manually but I assume there must be a way to type in a point of origin for each level so they are exact.
yes all views but I have no sheets created. but yes it was a cad link that was off.
By hand??? I usually use the move tool. ![]()
So, the solution was by doing what I suggested; right?
I'm honestly too new to revit to know what exactly you were saying but yes it got me to what I needed.
Sorry. It is just impossible to know the level of experience that an author has from reading his/her post. I try to use the terminology of the software, as best as can, in responding, so that I don't come across as condescending. I can always make my comments simpler and easier to understand if I'm asked to.
Good luck to you. Catch you later.
