Levels in section

Hi,

See below - why is one of the levels grey? The level is working as a floor plan.

fortywebs_0-1587462800281.png

Also, why can't i move the levels off the view to the left or right so they don't obscure the drawing?

Why can't I change the size and appearance of the levels so they fit my drawing better?

Why can't I make a level point upwards to be able to see 2 levels close to each other?

Do I have to "hide in view" and make my own using text on the sheet?

Thanks

If the level is greyed out it suggets that the floor plan has not yet been created.

Your levels might have a scope box associated.  If so, you can't move them to the left or right.

You can edit the levels in the family editor to change the appearance.

Note the little sqiggle next to the level head (when you select it).  Click that to allow the level head to be lifted so that it doesn't obscure the one next to it.

Thanks Tim,

When I try to move the levels to the left I get this message:

fortywebs_0-1587466321072.png

it is creating infill walls in my rear wall windows when I drag a level in section, and I can't select or delete the infill walls once created

Also all the levels have 2 locks. when I unlock them the rest are locked, it is a pointless exercise!

I don't have any scope boxes

HI @fortywebs

A level is black if it does not have a floor plan associated with it.  Because of what you posted, it appears it is grey because of the phase it is on.

Oh I see, thanks very much Samantha G.

I activated the view and yes, it turned blue. I had been confused because there was already a floor plan for that level, which I forgot I had made earlier by duplicate with detailing, rather than activating the view. So I just deleted that one.

Thanks again!
