I thought I understood levels extents and visibility well but apparently not. We have a large building with a south and north portion with different levels that need to just be associated with those areas and not show up in the other area. The problem I have is I have a level associated with the southern portion that is showing up in sections and elevations in the northern portion. I created a scope box to contain this level and that does remove it from the views in the northern portion. What I don't understand is why the level pops back into the northern views if I remove the level from the scope box or delete the scope box. I thought the level would stay where it was not jump back after removing its scope box. Reason I ask is because I'm trying to reduce the number of scope boxes we have. It also just bugs me that I dont know why this level is showing up if the view isnt cutting it.

It seems the level and grids will revert back to the original location once you delete the scopebox. I would simply leave the scopebox alone or put them in a workset that is always turned off.
I have never seen Levels associated with a scope box reset themselves after the scope box is deleted. With that said, I wouldn't delete the scope box if I were you, it can be useful should you need to add more levels, grids, ref planes in teh future.
