Level remains @ 0'-0"

I'm stumped. When I move my level up or down, it still reads 0'-0". Why?

I need the elevation to be relative to my toposurface.

How do I fix this?

Select your level > go to properties > edit type > change to survey and see if helps. Thanks

Are you Linking the Building Model into a Site Plan with the Toposurface, or creating your Toposurface in the same Project as your Building Model?  If the latter, typically, the Toposurface is moved to its proper position relative to the Model. The Model is not moved at all.  Also, Levels, Contour Labels, Spot Elevations  are relative to their "Elevation Base" - typically the Survey Point or the Project Base Point. Those are what you move -- not the Building Model.

Note: the Point Elevations inside Toposurface Edit Mode have no significance outside of Edit Surface mode.  Ignore them.

do you have a model link in your model? Have you tried adjusting your project base point or survey base point? you can also assign it an elevation using the "specify coordinate at point' option under the manage tab/ project location.

What is the Elevation Base of your Level? If it Project Base Point, Specify Coordinates at Point wouldn't do anything. If you Set the Elevation Base to Survey Point, you can move your Survey Point Location by using Specify Coordinates at Point - or simply moving the SP in Elevation View.

first, do you have a model link in your model? let us acquire their coordinate first.

I think the reason the Levels are reading 0, is because you linked the Building into the Site Plan where the Toposurface resides.  If you want the Level to report its Level relative to the Site Project PBB or SP, you need to Copy the Link's Levels into the Site Plan Project. Go to Collaborate=>Copy/Monitor=>Select Link=>Press Copy on the Contextual Tab and then Select the Link Level you want to Copy into the Site Plan Project. Press Finish to close out of Copy/Monitor.

I once played a joke on someone and changed the unit rounding to the nearest foot/meter so when the moved the levels the numbers didn't change.  Evil trick and they never figured it out, with out asking for help.  I don't think that is the issue here but the question brought back that memory...

Maybe that is what is going on here.  It's not that unlikely. Messing with Project Units; not realizing it's impact.

Did you get to the bottom of the issue?

Kind regards,

Changing the project base point elevation to my actual first floor elevation, and having the level tag constraint set to "Project Base Point" solved the problem. Now all my levels heights are correct and the toposurface points are correct relative to my levels.  Thank everyone for your input.
