Good Morning,
I'm using revit 2020 and I can't create Legends inside my template. I never used the command "clear unused". I've tried to open a new file and copy the entire project but I still can't create legends. I believe it is a "bug" with my template because when I open a file with a different template I can create the legends.
Has anyone been through this or know how to solve?

never see this before, but may you can simply copy a generic legend from another file (placed on a sheet) and then paste it on a sheet in your initial file.
If it isn't replicable, it's unlikely a "BUG!" Template could be FUBAR though. It happens. Post it and let us test.
i tried and you are right cannot create a legend, the best thing you can do is to create a new template. thanks
WinZIP? People still use that? I thought that went away with the mullet hairstyle.
Kidding.
Can you compress your Template with Windows and post it? Or - not compress it at all, and just post the RTE. I can't imagine an RTE that is so big that it needs to be compressed in order to transmit it. If it is that big, then maybe that's the root of the issue.
@barthbradley I do this here too as this forum does not accept attachments with some extensions file. thanks
This is the template compress file. It's not possible to send a RTE file by here.
thank you!!
I was unable to find a fix. Best I could do was open another Project and use Transfer Project Standards to copy everything to another RVT and then save that RVT as a RTE to replace your bad one.
1. Open New Project with the bad "lth_mirage.rte".
2. Open another New Project with any stock Revit Template (e.g. "default.rte")
3. Go to Manage Tab=>Transfer Project Standards, Select the Project using the "lth_mirage" Template, check all categories, and press "Okay". Choose to "Overwrite".
4. Finish up by adding starter content (i.e. Levels, Elevations, Views, etc.)
5. Save as a new RTE to replace the bad lth_mirage.rte.
6. Send the bad lth_mirage.rte to the trash bin.
