Hi djn9SY84 55,

If you’re interested in a more technical understanding of Revit, going beyond typical tutorials, here are a few key resources and strategies that can help deepen your knowledge:

1. Autodesk University (AU):
Autodesk University is an incredible resource for advanced Revit users. AU offers a wide range of classes and sessions that dive into Revit's technical workings, from complex family creation to workflows for large-scale BIM projects. Even if you can’t attend in person, AU provides on-demand sessions accessible anytime. Here are a few links to get started:

2. Check Out Local Revit User Groups and Events:
Many cities have Autodesk or Revit-specific user groups where professionals meet to discuss tips, share workflows, and present on technical topics. Joining a user group can give you access to advanced discussions, and you’ll benefit from hearing real-world applications of technical workflows from other Revit users. You can find local user groups through the Autodesk Group Network, which connects Revit users globally.

3. Attend a Technical Class or Workshop:
Taking an advanced Revit class or workshop can give you a more hands-on, structured experience. Look for courses focused on topics like Family Creation, Parametric Design, and Model Coordination, as these tend to dive deeper into Revit’s technical functionality. Autodesk, as well as local Autodesk Authorized Training Centers (ATCs), often host classes on advanced Revit topics, which can be a great way to work through complex ideas in a classroom setting with experts on hand.

4. Connect with Other Revit Enthusiasts and Professionals:
Engaging with other Revit users is one of the best ways to gain technical insights. Consider joining LinkedIn groups or discussion boards where advanced Revit users share their experiences and troubleshooting tips. Networking with Revit experts can provide insights into advanced workflows and technical tips you might not find in tutorials. You can start by exploring Revit groups on LinkedIn here: Revit LinkedIn Search.

5. Autodesk Forums and the Revit Subreddit:
Regularly checking Autodesk’s Revit Forum and the Revit subreddit is a good way to stay up-to-date with the latest technical challenges and solutions that other users encounter. These forums often feature discussions that address more technical Revit concepts, such as data management, worksharing issues, and API-based customizations.

These resources should help you explore more technical aspects of Revit and connect you with others who share your interest in advanced Revit knowledge. Let me know if I can suggest anything else!

The book that stood out for me when first looking into Revit was Mastering Autodesk Revit, i am not sure of the current publication but back in 2018 this went into much more depth and detail on the processes and understanding of Revit than the Learning Revit type literature you now find.

I worked for an Autodesk reseller as an Instructor and one thing I noted was many attendees on the Revit Essentials Training was how many had tried the "book" route but didn't really get everything they needed from the experience and being able to ask more in-depth questions and detailed answers was for them a much better learning experience.

So if it is at all possible look at your Autodesk reseller or one in your area (i prefer on-site training as you get way more out of it than online) and see if they can do a bespoke session with you or your team where you can preload the session with topics and questions you would like to cover on the day it is a great way to get a more detailed understanding of the software and how it can work better for you.
