Leaders to odd shaped tags

Hello all,

Am I the only one who is frustrated by the inability to create triangular, pentagonal, etc etc tags without that annoying gap between the linework and the leader? 

Yes yes - I know that leaders look at the overall extents of the tag graphic, blah blah. Has anyone come up with a more innovative workaround that's better than having a little line to bridge the gap - and that needs to be turned on or off depending upon which side the leader leads out of?

We really need to be able to place anchor points within annotations to dictate where leaders will originate. But I suppose that's more of an Idea Forum thing.

@mhiserZFHXS there already is a many-years-old Idea in the Ideas Forum. In the absence of any response to that, I'm interested in checking for any workarounds.
