I wish there was an option when you are keynoting an element to just have search bar to find the keynote for that element. I don't enjoy having to sometimes guess where things might be in the keynote file or having to have the keynote file open so that I can search in it. Keynotes just seem to be a forgotten feature in Revit where there have been no improvements to it.

Until then... Revolution Design's Keynote Manager provides a superior way to work with Keynotes. Perhaps its existence is delaying a better internal solution by Autodesk?

You have to sort in your spreadsheet (I use Google sheets). I sort by discipline and then by what type of work.
A note about lighting control would be in " EL" under " Control". At the same time you also can have your spreadsheet open in a separate monitor to better find things. You may add more tiers.
There is the ideas forum for proposing additional features. But the above method works quite well for ME. YMMV
I agree.
As an alternative, I can recommend a third-party tool: Keynote Manager. It contains a search box plus many other features that facilitate the work of editing the keynote file.
