One tedious task that I run into while using a Point Cloud in Revit is the continuous Visibility/Graphics - Point Clouds - Toggle On/Off (in this view)
At my company, we use Point Clouds on every project. Some projects have manageable sized .rcp files, while others can average 300-500 scans in a .rcp.
While trying to model with the Point Cloud on is near useless in these bigger files, MEP Pipe, Duct and Fittings/Valve placement has a load time to process the graphics of the element before it can be moved into position and placed.
One task they we always go through is turning the point cloud on/off depending on if we are using/moving items in the file.
A quick keyboard shortcut to toggle that on/off would save valuable time on these project. It seems like a simple task, but the time wasted over a long period of time is adding up.

1) I usually hide the cloud data by Using EH/HH Command & whenever it required then I simply hit RH (Reveal Hidden Elements)
Second Method
2) By using Dynamo Script (I personally prefer go with Dynamo)
and the sad thing about dynamo script is this don't work during group edit.
Here the Simple Script ![]()
Thanks...
View templates is probably the fastest way to toggle them. Have two that only control the point clouds and apply the desired template using temporary view properties.
After using the script how we can on/off the point cloud? Can you please Explain.
Hi All,
In the plugin from Diroots is a function to toggle on and of pointclouds.
It isnt possible to connect this button to a shortcut.
But it helps me a lot in my modelling time.
