Key Board Short Cuts

Hey Everyone,

I am an architectural student and I am working in a group for our project this semester. We were working on the site for our project and when we were drawing it this question came up. When you are drawing a site, roof, editing a wall profile, or anything of that nature is there a keyboard hot key or shortcut to switch between the line types in modify. The picture below is the drawing tools I am refering too.

There are no shortcuts set up for these commands out-of-the-box, but you can assign them. I have done so and have become quite enamored with the shortcuts for these since it is a common task to switch between the lines, arcs, pick lines and so on. See my setup below as an example, the letters in the parentheses are the my shortcuts. I use three-letter combinations and only use left-hand keys in order to allow my right hand to stay on the mouse.

To set them up, use the Keyboard Shortcuts menu (type "KS" or go to File > Options, then the User Interface menu, then Keyboard Shortcuts > Customize). I believe they are all on the Contextual Tabs, so you can choose that from the drop-down list. See some of mine in the images below. Keep in mind that there are multiple types of the same command; as such, I set all of the same command to the same shortcut (such as in the image showing all the Pick Lines options). Also see that Tangent End Arc has multiple instances, so I'd suggest using the same shortcut for all of them. You can ignore the warning which tells you about multiple commands having the same shortcut: they are all mutually exclusive in how you access these contextual tabs, so the identical shortcuts will not conflict with each other.
