Joining combination roofs - error

I am having a frustrating time trying to join two roofs...

See the attached screenshot and sketch of what I'm trying to accomplish.

When I try to join the shed/gable roof to the main roof of the building, I just get an error saying the roof cannot be joined. I have also tried several other methods like making the shed and gable end roof separately, but then I cant get those two roofs to join nicely..

Any thoughts on the problem, or perhaps another way of doing it?

Thanks

There are several ways to model that roof.  Post your Revit Project here. I'll see how I would do it.

That would be great, thanks. See attached.

How about extending the Roofs through the Main Roof and then using a Modeled In-Place Void to cut the portions of the Roof that protrude through the Main Roof?

Thanks barthbradley, I think that should work.

I was trying for a clean solution, but whatever gets the job done. :daumen_hoch:

Thanks again

You're welcome.

FWIW: I wouldn't have any reservations doing it that way.  It doesn't dumb down anything. Your model will still be "BIM Smart". :zwinkerndes_Gesicht:
