Roof '1' below is a typical single slope roof sloping up as shown by the arrow. Roof '2' is radial, 18" higher than '1', and at the same slope. I can't seem to be able to join these roofs, but can approximate it by edit '2's boundary. Is there a better way to get a clean join? Use a void?

Probably the easiest way is to penetrate fully the lower roof with the upper curved roof, Join them, and then use an In-Place Void to cut the excess roof.
You want to remove this?
If so, I'd Join the 2 Roofs and then cut away this portion with an In-Place Void.
