Items not cutting at cutting plane?

Hello all,

Just created a mechanical duct/riser that runs up the side of my building, several metres past the top of my ground floor plan and yet it does not get cut at the cut plane of my ground floor plan. All I see is the duct as I would at the roof plan extending over into my floor space?

Please help me understand this! Really getting the hang of this Revit 2011 thing lately, and then this happens?

Forgot to mention that I am using model in place components, sweeps, mechanical equipment.

Can you add the drawing?

I expect it will have something to do with the type of view (architectural or MEP) and the detail setting. (Similar to the way structural steel-colums are displayed as lines, depending on your setting.) Just a wild guess, though.

Ummm, how do I change how mechanical stuff is viewed on my 'architectural' floor plan apart from changing the discipline display in view properties?

You can set an overwrite in your Visibility/Graphics Overwrite setting for the view. There is a small checkbox in the bottom left section of the dialogue box that lets you see all disciplines. And from there it's try and error.

I have followed your advice and can see my ducts, but still they are not cutting? And now I am having the same issue with some downpipes elsewhere on the same job.

Apparently some family categories are not cuttable, Plumbing and Mechanical are among these.
