Hi I am trying to create a rack which includes family devices which have connectors on them. I would like to draw the cables interconnected to each device. I am using the regular version of Revit, is this possible or do I need a different version or tool?
I have tried using the connectors tool and dropping in data plates but cannot link the plates together with wires?
Electrical wires in Revit are not modeled, they are annotation objects. I'm not even sure if it does data cable at all. Revit is not the tool for this.
is the intent to have the wiring intelligent between connectors? or are you just looking to make an elevation and represent the connecting wires?
as @RobDraw states, you need another tool if you want to display the wiring intelligently connected. if you just want to make a pretty picture, you can make an section or elevation of the Rack and use Detail Lines to draw splines between the different different connection points.
