Hi All,
Any idea how to trim wall sweeps to match the sloping profile of the roofline on the walls? I can get the sweeps to meet the wall edges and cut out the door frames but not the roof slope.
A quick reply would be much appreciated,
Thank you.
@Anonymous hello, can you please post some screen shot. thanks
Hard to visualize what you are trying to do, but have you tried editing the profile of your wall to meet your sloped roof line? The sweep will then stop at the new wall end.
The horizontal ones are internal wall sweeps, the vertical ones are external wall sweeps - hope this makes sense!
Thank you, would you know the quickest steps to create these?
I've found some steps but they're too confusing!
Not too sure of sweeps can be angled? I found some info on other forums about creating 'in-place' sweeps but they're too confusing..
Dude, I never said you could do angled sweeps. Nor, did I think that you were talking about angled sweeps. I thought we were talking horizontal and vertical. I'm dazed and confused.
Bro! "Any idea how to trim wall sweeps to match the sloping profile of the roofline on the walls". It's right there in the OP. I'm trying to understand this as well but nobody has provided an easy answer. Sweeps should have grips, IMO.
No, I made two distinct points - 1) the OP made their point very clear so @barthbradley seems to have made too many comments not addressing the issue, and 2) sweeps don't seem to be very flexible. Keep in mind that I've only been using Revit for about 8 months, but I'm an 18-year AutoCAD Architecture user.
Walk sweeps do have grips and they are not inflexible as you may think. What parts do you find them not flexible?
And to @ToanDN: See the sketch below, as I couldn't get the trim band to angle off properly with the slope of the roof.
I fully acknowledge my limitations in this software, but after having researched for two hours on how to create this clip, I finally just created an extrusion and it worked perfectly. I tried creating the trim band as a stack wall component (but couldn't get it to work - probably my limitation, I'm sure), I tried attaching top to the roof as a wall sweep and it still didn't project to the roof slope, I tried doing a void extrusion and it said it couldn't cut it, and I added a wall sweep that would still not project to the roof slope after utilizing the 'attach top'. I'm using Revit 2024.
