Hi All,
We are working on an Educational Version on University Computers and as such, we cannot create a central file and create local files to sync to that central model.
Could someone please be kind enough in helping! We are wanting to work on one file at the same time.
A quick response would be highly appreciated.
Thank you,
Anagha

What exactly does "cannot create a central file" mean? Do you have Collaborate menu?
Hi,
Yes. I do have the collaborate menu.
The way I normally create a central model is: Save a file name with an extension CENTRAL.
Then while opening the project, I click on the central file and check the box at the bottom saying "create a local file" and then open the file.
Is this right?
Thanks
No. Procedure is as follow:
- Open Collaborate menu, click on Collaborate button, choose Save.
- Choose one Collaborate option from the popup: local network or cloud.
- Save and close. It is now a Central File.
- Open it again and choose Create a New Local.
Perfect thank you heaps!
However, I am now not able to save it on cloud, which I would really like to (rather than local network).
The error prompt says that "you do not have access to cloud projects", could you please help me with this please?
Thank you
I think you want to save them to your Local University Network, not a Cloud. Cloud means Revit Server, which is another online project hosting service by Autodesk which you may not have. (we don't use it either).
Ok, thats what I'll do.
Thank you heaps for salvaging - we were struggling.
I might trouble you from time to time with more questions if thats alright?
Is there a direct contact of yours that I could get, if its ok? or is this the best medium to connect with queries?
Thank you
Kind Regards,
A
