Issue with Window Display in Roof Plan – Visibility Below Cut Plane

Hi, I'm having trouble with the display of window sections in both floor plans and roof plans. For example, I’ve attached a window that I’m working with. When I import it into any model, it doesn’t display correctly in the roof plan—some elements of the window below the cut plane remain visible and cover what should be shown. I’ve already tried adjusting different visibility settings and modifying the view range, but the issue persists. Can anyone help me resolve this? Thanks!

...change your Project View's Detail Level. Try Fine. That resolve?  If so, the issue is due to Visibility Settings of the geometry in the Family.

  • Keep in mind that a "roof plan" view has an associated level and that level might be Level 1 (a lower floor's level) and the cut plane of the view will need to be adjusted so the view is looking down at the whole building instead of cutting through the building at the first floor.
  • If there is a dedicated Roof level and view then the cut plane may still need to be adjusted so the view does not cut through the building and "looks" down at the roof from above.
  • You may still need to use a plan region if the model has offset roofs and you need to see some windows but not others. A plan region only needs to surround the element(s) that need to be seen where the view's own view range settings don't produce the desired appearance.
