Issue with Materials Library not Opening in Revit 2024 - Seeking Solutions

Hello fellow forum members,

I'm facing a perplexing issue with the Materials Library in Revit 2024 and I'm hoping someone here might have encountered a similar problem and found a solution. I'll explain the problem in detail below:

Problem:
When I click on the "Materials" button in the Manage tab within Revit 2024, nothing pops up, and the library does not appear. However, I've noticed that when I open AutoCAD 2024 or Civil 3D 2024, the materials library is available and functioning perfectly. It's strange that the same library is not opening or popping up in Revit 2024.

Troubleshooting Steps Taken So Far:

  • I've attempted to reinstall Revit 2024, hoping it might resolve the issue, but unfortunately, that didn't work.
  • I've disabled .NET Framework to see if that was causing any conflicts, but this also didn't help.
  • My graphic drivers are up to date, so that's not likely to be the cause of the issue.
  • I've adjusted DPI settings as suggested in other forums, but still, the library remains inaccessible.

Additional Information:

  • I'm aware that starting from 2024 products, libraries cannot be installed separately.
  • It's baffling that the materials library is functioning correctly in AutoCAD 2024 and Civil 3D 2024, but not in Revit 2024.

I'm reaching out to this community in the hopes that someone might have faced this issue before and discovered a workaround or solution. If you've encountered a similar problem or have any ideas on what might be causing this discrepancy, I would greatly appreciate your input.

Thank you in advance for your time and assistance. Looking forward to hearing your insights and suggestions!

Best regards, Shahbaz Ahmad

Some more things to try:

-Do you have second monitor? Than disconnect, restart and try again.

-Update OS

-Make sure you have .NET 4.8

-Repair .NET with Microsoft .NET repair tool.

-Disable/Remove add-ins

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.

Dear L. Maas,

Thank you for dedicating your valuable time to address my concern.

I've taken the steps to solve this issue as you described above, but unfortunately, the problem persists. Here's a summary of what I've tried:

  1. I removed the additional connected LCD from my laptop, restarted laptop, and checked the library, but the issue remains unresolved.
  2. My Windows operating system is up-to-date.
  3. I also attempted to resolve the issue by using a registry cleaner.
  4. Following your guidance, I tried repair .NET Framework 4.8.
  5. It's important to note that this issue existed even before I installed any add-ins.
  6. Interestingly, I encountered this problem right after performing a Windows reinstallation last week.
  7. I use an ISO of the Revit setup directly for installation, and while I don't extract it, I believe the ISO file itself is not directly corrupted.

I truly value your ongoing support and guidance, and I'm open to exploring any other potential solutions that I may not have yet implemented.
