Issue with floating model elements when placing in plan.

I made this lighting family and as you can see in my example, some of the geometry is floating out in space for some reason whereas everything is correct in my model when I go to edit the family. Any suggestions? Thanks!

The family is not properly constrained...the difference you are seeing between family and model is because that lamp functions properly for SPECIFIC Dimensions/parameters you are using in ONE specific TYPE.

Once the type or any of those dimensions/parameters change, it breaks

You need to lock the Extrusions/Sweeps/Revolve axis to reference planes which relate to the Host Wall/Face in the family

Wild guess....

I'll bet the geometries are hosted to 2 different Ref. Planes - and one of those RP's is locked to the face of the wall and the other is not.   If so - and they are named Ref. Planes - another way to fix it (besides locking the RPs together) would be to edit the Family, select the  geometry (or nested family)  that is going rogue in the Project, and use the Edit Work Plane tool to change the Ref. Plane it is are hosted to.   Host them all to the same Ref. Plane that the circular face plate is on.
