Isolated Multi Category Schedule for one particular area only

Is there a way to have a multi category schedule for a given area while leaving out the same categories from other areas.  IE in "area A" I want to schedule doors/electrical points/walls/windows....  only, while leaving out the same categories from "area B......" I know one can use filters when creating schedules, but I will then need to create another  schedule for "area B....", which would not include multi  categories from "Area A..." Would the answer lie in creating a shared parameter called "Area" and assigning it to anything is in "area A" or is there a simpler way to schedule items only from a particular area? Any steps/procedures required to isolate categories from a given area appreciated.

The solution you described is also how I would do it, if I wanted to separate objects depending on areas.

The room book extension could also be interesting for you regarding schedules.

If this helped you please mark as solved.

You don't need Shared Parameters. You would use Project Parameters for this. But, frankly, it sounds like you can just use an in-built Parameter such as "Comments" or "Mark".  You just need a Parameter Field to enter an identifier value which you can use in the Schedule to Filter, Sort and Group by.

You don’t necessarily need shared parameters.
But its considered good practice to use shared param in order to achieve the same standards across projects.

But its technically correct that you can use any parameter.

The point is that it needs to be a PROJECT PARAMETER.  Whether or not that Project Parameter in pulled from a Shared Parameter Text File,  is irrelevant to what the OP is asking about.

Also, "any" in-built parameter won't do. It needs to be a Parameter field that is available to a Multi-Category Schedule.

Technically you are correct about the fact that it has to be a project parameter.

whether this project parameter comes from a shared parameter is irrelevant.
