Let's face it, the standard 3d view of Revit kind of sucks sometimes. I think is the weakest point in related of ArchiCAD. Since that I started to learn Revit I thought it is there any way to turn the 3d isometric view of Revit in a perspective 3D view to make easy to navigate inside the projects. If is there any way to do it I think it'll very useful specially to who work in architecture or engineering.

So, is there any way to get ArchiCAD's 3D orbit to Revit and navigate through my projects? (SketchUp do it too, just for reminder)

3d navigation tool.JPG

Hi

am not aware of any plugins..

but try this.

1. Put a Camera in play.. drag the view range to capture a good view /builing

2. try the above naviation tool

UP/DOWN can be used to move from levels to levels..

b. LOOK will help view anywhere.. 360 degree

c. WALK is the best.. you can navigate at your own pace.. needs some

practice , but once you master its amazing..

Best of luck

Cheers!

I'm not sure what you are saying about how perspective view is going to help but you can orbit, pan, and zoom Revit's 3D views. I use section boxes all the time to crop the view. IMHO, perspective views are more of a pretty picture than a modeling tool. YMMV.

BTW, comparing Revit to those other platforms does not hold any weight here.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Revit does have a toggle to change a 3d view mode from parallel to perspective. From either view you can use Shift + W to open the wheel and navigate inside the building.

From a 3d view, make sure the edge of the crop region is visible. Then use the drop down menu of the view cube to find the option.

Hi, i followed your instructions and i was able to change the view to perspective but i have some issues: if you work under this view (perspective) you have a lot of distorsion depending on your position (i mean that it´s better to job in the default "parallel" 3d view because you dont have weird distortioned-views while you navigate trought the modell). Im looking forward to work in a default 3d perspective view under revit (revit 2021 perhaps?)

Best regards

If you're looking to generate view points in Revit that are perspective and would rather be looking at 3d perspectives rather than Isometrics you have a few options.  You can try to play around with the Revit Live plug in.  (I'll be honest and say I haven't looked a the newer version so I'm not sure what improvements have been made, but I didn't like the process of exporting, waiting and then walking thru the model).  Or you can use Enscape.  You can walk around the model in real time, make changes to the model in real time, and my favorite, create 3d camera views from it.

I've heard from my designers that's why they still use sketchup.  Because they can view the model when they fly around it in Perspective and you can't do that in Revit.  So Enscape was the answer we came up with.  It's worth a trial run.  It's does lots of other cool stuff, but you're question a plug in.

Hope this helps.

If you're looking to view your Revit model in 3D. You could try Xuver's online viewer. It allows you to convert your RVT file and view it online, walk around your design with an avatar and invite multiple people to join you inside as well!

Hi, im looking forward to work inside revit with a 3d perspective default model, Enscape and other options are good if you want to see the final result, but I need a 3d perspective default environment in order to work with the proper flow that you need in conceptual design (no interruptionns or 3rd developers) (that should be a must in revit don´t you agree?) (FormIt it´s a good example, it´s possible to include this kind of platform in Revit?)
