Is there a way to mask earth hatch in sections without resorting to having to create a mask?

Not sure why this view is overlaying the earth hatch through a footing. I know I can mask it but is there a way to do this globally? As I want to update our template.

Cut the topo with the footing. It can be a tedious process, especially if you have a lot of sections, but it does the job. And it'll also continue to show correctly even if the footing is moved around (not deleted and replaced).

I also posted an idea for this not long after toposolids launched, where other model elements automatically cut toposolids. Its been accepted but who knows when it'll be implemented.
