Is there a way to insert furniture families so that they can be mirrored?

Hi everyone.

I happen to find myself inserting "generic model adaptive" families of basic piecesof furniture to the main project.

While the families can be rotated, they can't be mirrored or scaled.

The workflow I use now is to create a generic model (g.m.) family, insert it into a g.m. adaptive family, align it to an insertion point and then insert the adaptive into the project.

Thanks so much.

Press the Spacebar on placement and/or place a Flip Arrow Control in the Family and press the Flip Arrow in the Project.

....Adaptive??? Adaptive Point have Flip, Rotation, and several other Parameters that you can associate to Host Family Parameters.

You can do it with adaptive family by:

- host a ref point on one of the adaptive point's plane

- assign Mirrored to an Y/N parameter

- create form on the ref point's planes, not the adaptive point's

Thanks.
I was aware of the flip option, but my problem is that the inserted
families are within groups in the project. And if I want to make a simple
mirror of the group, a good part of its contents will mirror but the
families won't. So, flipping in this case is useless to me. But anyway,
thanks so much.

Let me examine the Group. Can you post the Project or the Group ?

I wouldn't put adaptive families in a group unless they don't have any adaptive points.

Unfortunately I cant, my boss won't allow me. But to let you figure it out: the group has few walls of an apartment, plus some doors and windows. Also includes the inserted families as generic models adaptive as pieces of furniture. The group must have it all, so I can mirror the whole apartment. Thanks for understanding.

Thanks again.

I am trying to implement your solution but it seems that I can't manage to make the family flippable or mirrorable in the project.

I am attaching the file with the adaptive family. Could you take a look on it and help me fix it?

Thanks
