Is there a way to copy an entire building model into a new project file

Is there a way to copy an entire building model (of a previous project) into a new project file?

We have a completed project that was done in Revit 2014, complete with phasing work, and now we are looking to bring in all of the previous and new 3d elements and components into a new project template in Revit 2018. Is this possible and if so how is it achieved?

Thank you,

Do you need to keep the phasing?

Do you mean "Template"  literally (e.g. RTE)?  Or do you mean you want to UPGRADE the Project from 2014 to 2018?  Or do you mean you want to bring all the Model Elements and Transfer Project Standards into another existing, later version Project?

Either way, first thing I'd do would be to UPGRADE the Project.

What if you did need to keep the phasing?

Save a copy of the original 2014 model as something else. Then, upgrade the new copy to 2018. Then, from a 3d view, turn on all the categories, delete all the model elements, and save the file as .rte (project template). Then that is your starting point. Continue editing and saving as a template.

EDIT: Never mind. I see that I was thinking of how to create a new template based on a existing project.

By the way: I'm very glad to see that now we can edit messages in this forum, as in other forums, to make a clarification to a post, like this. For years, there was a time limit of 20 minutes to edit a post. This is good. Thank you for making this change.
