Is there a way to alter the grid line length in one view without affecting the other views. I often face problems when placing views in sheets as sometimes the scales vary , and the grid lines often go beyond the boundary of the sheets . But when i pull the grid length short , it also shortens in other views too

This is where scopebox become handy. You can use scopebox to control the view and this will also control the grid crops. Also watchout that you don't drag 3d grid grip. Always click on 3d to 2d and then drag the grid grip. Most often people move the 3d grid grip and it makes you grid display all over the place.

it takes practice, What you need to be hyper-aware of is the teeny tiny "2D" and "3D" labels, and teeny tiny Open Circle and Solid Dot visual clues.  Definitely prescription eyewear is a must.  Can't expect to look "cool" to the cute receptionist while managing your grids.  It's a  nerdy exercise  to say the least.  Do it in private.

You don't need to ration out  solution credits. Give the man a pat on the back with a solution credit. Scope Boxes is a great suggestion.  Had you thought of it?  Well, now you have.
