Not directly from Revit--UNLESS you are using Lumion 2 and have the Collada exporter.

If not, use this workflow:

Revit>FBX>3dsMax>Collada

It is unfortunate that a third-party developer like Lumion team can create a Collada exporter to work with Revit; while native Revit users have to use a tedious workflow like Revit --> FBX --> 3ds Max --> Collada!

So we need to own 3ds Max as well, just to export a Collada file from Revit?

And we need to own Navisworks MANAGE just to export a NWD file that can be read using Navisworks FREEDOM?

You can export your revit as a dwg, open that in sketchup pro version. Export the sketchup as a dae... Then you will have the geometries, but materials will be lost. It's not ideal but itll work if you are studying form only

I am writing this on a computer without Revit, so I might be completely wrong...

I understand that there is a link or plugin for viewing Revit models in Google Earth. That would in normal cases involve the creation of a KMZ file. A KMZ file is a ZIP in disguise - rename its extension to ZIP and open or extract it. The 3D model information is stored in a folder within as a DAE.

I have not tried it out but did come across this add in

SimLab Collada Exporter for Autodesk® Revit®

https://apps.autodesk.com/RVT/en/Detail/Index?id=1209365542010572426&appLang=en&os=Win64

Since I haven't downloaded it I only see that it offers a free trial (unknown cost) but I have to assume it is cheaper than Lumion if all you need is a Collada exporter.

Dudes!

Lumion Bridge for Revit its a FREE Plugin.

Just go to hte Revit APP store and download it / install it.

It should work. It simply exports your Revit model to DAE format, you do not need to use the Live Link feature...

Regards

It appears the transparency is inverted. In infraworks if you go to configure the data source and then to the 3d Model tab - check the invert transparency option.

i DL this exporter. the free app takes a lot of time for a 212mb file. i.e. from last night 2305 to early morning  0300, still nothin'!

...& it promised to handle large files.
