is revit overkill for 5 bed house renovation?

I am renovating a 5 bed domestic house. A friend suggest I should use Revit to build a 3D model of the house to create drawings for pipe layout, ac ducting, etc. Is this a good idea or should I create 3D drawing with AutoCAD?
