Hi ![]()
So basically, I would like to have in one Tag Room Tag + Area Tag, is this possible?
Since they have different values, I am trying to find a way to automate this by creating one tag with both values.
Or any way where I can show both values in one plan before exporting?
Any informatoin regarding this topic would be really helpful for me, thank you ![]()

Hi,
I think this isn't possible since Tags are based on a category. You can make a family for both categories and then use tag all not tagged?
Or maybe create a Dynamo script that read out the Area and then copy the value to a custom Shared Parameter inside the Room Tag for example.

Unfortunately, this is not possible AFAIK. Even if there was a multi-category tag, you would have to somehow host it to 2 separate items (room, and area).
in your case it would be misleading if you show the room name but a different area. any viewer would assume the area shown in a room tag will be the room area. So, I'm curious what exactly you are trying to accomplish?
2 separate tags have the problem you need to manually align them to look like they are the same tag and keep that alignment when you move them around. I have a situation where I use a space tag (for lighting power density) and a generic tag (for calculated lighting levels) that I show as one tag and I wish i could make it one tag....
I assume by "Area" you mean the "Area" plans. Do those match the exact room size? If so, you can use just the room area. But in most cases areas include multiple rooms, so they are larger. So that room tag would then show the area of multiple rooms (size of the area). I'm still not sure what you need to do (besides a multiple-category tag).
On an area plan you should be able to show area tags, and the room tags, if this is just for showing which room is which. I think I'm wandering a bit OT here. But there may be other ways to accomplish your actual objective.
That was exactly what i was showing with the printscreen xD... Tag all Rooms and Areas. But not in the same tag.

Well i had to attach another printscreen from an area plan with rooms, my bad hehe. But in the end your issue is solved:).
