Hello

Does someone know if it is possible to insert a small size picture into a revit family? I am not asking into a in a revit project

When I try to insert as an image I keep getting the message: "the imported family will not be visible in the project. To improve performance delete the image before saving the family."

I have tried with a smaller size picture

Thanks

you could use the image to create a material. then assign the material to the object.

  • Manage ribbon > Settings panel > Materials
  • duplicate a Default material
  • in the Appearance panel, you can load an image.

you may need to mess with the image scale and positioning and set the Repeat to None if you only want it once.

You can insert the image into generic annotation and use that as a family. Image will not work with detail or model family.

When exporting to CAD, Images inserted into a family, or Model, will export as separate files. only way around that would be to use a Material. I believe Autodesk material libraries are shared across there software's. So when exporting to CAD, the material should still be accessible.
