In case I have open a section from the listing under Sections, I am not able to determine unless I open several views available (from within "Go To View") and do trial and error.
Is there a straight unique way to get the Source information of a section.
Is there any parameter to retrieve this information.
What does "Source information of a section" mean? Any of the views listed under Find Referring views can bring you directly to the section line that you need to find.
In that case it's not trial and error. All those four views should show you the section line. There is not a unique view or best view, if that what you mean.
Thanks. It is true. But I need to see only the Floor Plan, for example where I created this section 1st. It appears in other views as a result of it was created (first) somewhere else. So, the others are not the parents. I am a new Revit user. I guess I should get used to think.
Well this is a feature that would be useful imho, I've wondered in the past why it's not there already... however the suggestion should be posted in the Idea's forum... (actually... I'm not entirely sure whether or not I understand the suggestion/question)... edit 2: I think you meant find initial view where the section was drawn in, correct?
...I suppose you could make a project parameter (instance) in views category, then manually add the info to the section(s)... Not sure where to extract this particular info otherwise, perhaps it's possible using some script, who knows... or every time you create a section you also create a dependant view with the section name...
Right Mouse Button in the view, then click "Find Referring Views" in the popup menu.
