Invisible lines patterns

Hi everyone,

I got time ago a family (Family A) from a consultant where the <Invisible lines> category are dashed. I would like to have the same appearance in my own families (Family B), but I don´t find where can I change the line patterns for the <invisible lines> Revit category.

Any idea how did they manage to change it?

Regards,

Ignacio

@lopez_ignacio

In principle Invisible Lines is a Graphics Style Standard and not a line style which a user can input (See image below). It's pattern does not really matter since it is set to be invisible anyways when loaded into the project.

If you need  a dashed invisible line pattern, then you might want to consider

  • either using a subcategory Hidden Lines then uncheck its visibility
  • or Use a Reference Line
  • or transfer project standards to overwrite the Style for <Invisible>

If you need more help on the topic, attach both families in your reply and I would gladly look deeper into what you are trying to model

Hi @RDAOU ,

thank you for your response. Yes you are right, they aren´t Line styles.

In my example, we use those lines as auxiliary lines for title blocks families, in order to place them in the right position.

I don´t want to create a new custom subcategory if it is possible to change them to dashed or any other pattern. As you can see in the attached family we got time ago, they managed to change them.

My point is, how it is possible to change them from continuous to dashed?  How did this consultant managed to do it? (I don´t know from whom we got it)

As mentioned in previous reply, that is a Graphic Style standard cannot be changed by user input....but you can transfer it from one project to the other

  • Open both families in the same Revit session
  • go to manage
  • use transfer project standards >>> object styles >>> overwrite
